Japan condemns terrorist attacks on Iraqi cities

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Japan has condemned the aggressive acts that took place against Iraqi cities on Monday, saying that the terrorist acts against innocent people can’t be justified.   “Japan feels strong anger as result of the terrorist acts aimed against 17 cities in different parts of Iraq, including the terrorist explosions in the city of Kut and the terrorist attacks that took place on August 15th in Baghdad, Tikrit, Holy Najaf, sacred Karbala and other cities, causing the deaths of more than 60 people and wounding over 230 others,” a Japanese Foreign Ministry statement, received by IraqiNews.com, said.   “Japan expresses its deep condolences for those who had been killed in those attacks and for the families of the victims,” the statement added.   It said that “Japan hopes that the the government and people of Iraq will overcome their sectarian and religious differences, and exert efforts to achieve security stability, restore the reconstruction of their country, in addition to the strengthening of their national compromise,” confirming that “Japan would continue its positive support for the efforts, exerted by the Iraqi people.”   SKH (TI)/SR 325
