Parliament votes on decreasing certain salaries

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament has voted in its Tuesday session to decrease the salaries of the Three Chairmanships, including the salary of the President and the Ministers, but excluded the salaries of the Parliament members from its decision, legislature of the State of Law Coalition, Ali al-Shilah said.   “The Parliament has ended its session today (Tuesday) by voting to decrease the salaries of the Three Chairmanships, including the salary of the President, the Ministers, but excluded the salaries of the Legislatures,” Shilah told IraqiNews.com news agency.   “The salary of the President has become 12 million dinars, his Vice-Presidents – 10 million each, the Prime Minister – 12 million, his Deputy Prime Ministers 10 million each, the Parliament Speaker’s 12 million, his Deputy Speakers – 10 million each, whilst the salary of each Cabinet Minister has become 8 million dinars,” Shilah said.   The Iraqi Parliament had held its session today (Tuesday), under chairmanship of its Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, his two Deputy Speakers and 240 Parliament Members.
