Eleven persons, among them 8 wanted ones, detained in air-landing in Kirkuk.

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: At least 11 persons, including 8 wanted ones for terrorist charges, have been detained in an air-landing and a ground offensive by a joint U.S.-Iraqi force, a Kirkuk Police Director reported on Thursday.   “A Joint Force from Kirkuk’s Police, Iraqi Army’s 12 th Division and an American Force, have launched two security operations in Daqouq and Riyadh townships of Kirkuk Province on Thursday, the first through an air-landing and the second by a ground offensive,” Lt-Brigadier, Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Qader said that the two offensives “have led to the detention of 11 persons, among them 8 wanted by the Judiciary, according to Article 4-Terrorism, along with confiscating a quantity of arms and ammunition.”   “The Joint Force had been exposed for 2 explosive charges blasts after ending the said 2 offensives, causing no losses,” Qader said, adding that “such offensives would continue during the Muslim Eid al-Fitr Holidays, scheduled to take place at the end of August, to impose security to avoid terrorist acts during Eid Holidays, he said.   Kirkuk , the center of the Province carrying the same name, is 280 km to the northeast of Baghdad .
