US Security authroties detain Iraqi-Mexican drug-traficking gang

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The security authorities in El Cajon, in the U.S. San Diego area has arrested a joint Iraqi-Mexican gang, trading in trafficking of narcotics in the city of El Cajon, according to a radiio report by those authorities on Saturday.   “A gang for smuggling narcotics, comprising members of the Iraqi immigrants in east Mexico and a Mexican gang, have been arrested by the security authorities San Diego on August 18th ultimo, in the U.S. town of El Cajon while trying to sell a large quantity of narcotics, along with weapons and hand-grenades,” the report, copy of which was received by IraqiNews.com news agency reported.   The report pointed out that the “said gang, 60 members of whom were arrested, was charged with cooperation with an organized crime gang in the U.S. city of Detroit , along with smuggling narcotics from El Cajon to the Iraqis, living in Detroit .   “The report stressed that El Cajon ’s police had found US$630,000 at the possession of the gang, charged with smuggling 18 pounds of Methamphetamine and Cocaine narcotics, along with 3,500 pounds of Marijuana and explosives, as well as 30 rifles, including assault rifles,” the statement added.   The Agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in San-Diego said that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Steve Tomaski, had stated that he had shared in part of the investigations, related to the said operation.   Noteworthy is that the Cities of Detroit and San-Diego, are home for the second Iraqi Chaldeans in the United States of America .   SKH (RT) 655
