Wassit Council signs MOU with Chinese Company to build 330-megawatt electric station

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq Wassit Province’ Council has signed a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with a Chinese company to build a 330 megawatt power station in the Province, the Council’s media committee member reported on Monday.   “Wassit’s Council has signed an MOU on Sunday with the Chinese ‘Camsy’ Company to build an electric power station in the Province, with 330 megawatt power,” Taha al-Rudeiny told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Rudeiny said that the Council had got final official approvals by the Ministry of Electricity, following the approval of the Prime Minister and the Finance Ministry to build the power station.   “The Chinese Company had promised to build the power station within one year from the date of the Iraqi Electricity Ministry’s approval on the contract, adding that the payment of the project would be based on delayed payment procedure.   Kut, the center of Wassit Province , is 180 km to the southeast of Baghdad .   SKH (IT)     509
