Parliament’s Committee investigating US Army’s execution of 10 Iraqis in one family in 2006

BAGHDAD  / IraqiNews.com: Member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Security & Defense Committee, Ammar tu’ma, has said on Sunday that his Committee was preparing an investigation about the dossier of an American Army’s execution of 10 Iraqis in one family, including women and children in 2006.   “The Parliament’s Security & Defense committee shall discuss in the Parliament’s next session the issue of the execution of 10 Iraqis from one family by American soldiers in 2006,” Tu’ma said, adding that details of the incident would be investigated to try those behind that crime, through coordination with the Iraqi government.   Tu’ma charged the American forces with “having committed a lot of such crimes against the Iraqi people,” saying that “the said crime was not the first crime of its type, committed by the Americans since their occupation of Iraq in 2003.”   A diplomatic document, published by Wikileaks Position had uncovered that the United Nations had handed over to Washington a report about the execution by its soldiers of at least 10 Iraqis of one family, including 4 women and 5 children, in an operation they implemented in northern Iraq’s Balad township in 2006, and ordering their house’s air bombardment to cover up the crime.   SKH (IT) 325
