PM Maliki discusses aggressive attacks against Kirkuk’s doctors with Turkomen Front

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has discussed the recent aggressive attacks against doctors and other intellectuals in the   city of Kirkuk with representatives of the Iraqi Turkomen Front, according to a statement by Maliki’s office on Thursday.   “Maiki has discussed on Wednesday with representatives of the Iraqi Turkomen Front the escalation of the assassinations and other aggressive attacks against Kirkuk ’s doctors and other academic intellectuals, by the terrorist organizations in the Province,” the statement stressed.   The statement quoted Maliki as having discussed “means to confront the said challenges and to protect the security achievements in Kirkuk,” in the meeting, attended by the Minister of State for Provinces Affairs, Turhan al-Mufty and the Province’s Council Member and Chairman of the Iraqi Turkomen Front, Arshad al-Salihy.   Northern Iraq’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk had been witnessing continued attacks against doctors, academic and other scientific intellectuals, last of which had been the assassination of the Turkoman Doctor, Yuldrom Abbas.   SKH (ST)
