Kirkuk needs special attention – President Talabani

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said that Kirkuk areas are “not given their rights” in comparison to others in the country, so it needs special care and attention in all service, economic, cultural, living and development spheres.   He stressed the importance of national unity among Kirkuk Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen and Chaldean-Assyrian segments.   In a presidential statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, following a meeting in Kirkuk with senior provincial officials, he stressed to exert all efforts to support Kirkuk with different services.   The statement added that the service and investment sectors were discussed during the meeting, as well as the province should have its rights from the Iraqi and Kurdistan governments.
