Military Commander of underground “Islamic State of Iraq” detained

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A military commander of the underground “Islamic State of Iraq” has been detained in southern Iraq ’s Wassit Province on Friday, a Wassit security source reported.   “A force of Iraq ’s 8 th Division’s 45 th Brigade in Sewaira township, 135 km to the north of Kut, the center of Wassit Province , has detained the Military Commander of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq,” Amer al-Duleimy, in a security operation on Friday,” the security source stressed.   It said that Duleimy had been one of the officers of Iraq ’s former Intelligence Body, during the toppled regime of former President, Saddam Hussein.   The said force had implemented an operation on Thursday in Sewaira township, where it discovered 4 rocket and ammunition dumps.   Kut, the center of Wassit Provinc,e is 180 km to the southeast of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)
