Water desalination directory completed with UNICEF – EU

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com:  The Iraqi government endorsed the Direction Guide to operate water desalination by using Osmosis-RO Reserves, which was implemented by the support of the UNICEF and European Union financing in the amount of 10 million dollars to improve water and sewerage system in Iraq.   In a statement, UNICEF said that the decrease in potable waters is due to the increase in salt levels in Iraqi water resources.   These directions will provide Iraqi authorities the ability to treat water sources, and increase water supply to more than 3 million Iraqi children, who do not have water resources at the present time.   The statement added that when all training courses are completed, more that 300 RO stations will actively participate in the millennium seventh development objective, which aims at achieving continued environmental objectives by 2015.   Courses already began in Basra to treat the higher salinity percentage in the province, as the statement added.
