Iraq needs new legislations void of racism – sectarianism

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki stressed the need for new legislations that will build a modern state void of racism and sectarianism, calling on the legislature authority and Lawyers Union to assist security forces and state officials.   In a statement issued by his office, on the occasion of the festivities of 78 anniversary of Lawyers Union establishment, he added that “the state cannot rise with one authority, but with the collaboration of all authorities.”   “When the law was weak, the people resorted to their entities, which is not forbidden, but the Iraqi Man should have the first priority”, he added.   Maliki confirmed that , based on true nationality and “our constitution needs the role of law and lawyers.” RM (TS)/SR 237
