Maliki: “Iraq is still within the circle of danger.”

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Saturday that Iraq “is still within the circle of danger,” reiterating necessity to avoid return to the stage that witnessed the killing of religious clerics.   “Some of Iraq’s best religious clergymen have been killed by evil men in Iraq, represented in (Iraq’s former) Baath regime, whose hands were stretched to the bloods of innocent Iraqis,” Maliki said in a speech, on the anniversary of the killing of the Second Sadr Clergyman.   “Iraq does not need to return back and to see those who undermined the bloods of innocent Iraqis, killing clergymen,” Maliki said, stressing that “Iraq is still within the circle of danger.”   On his part, the Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, said in his speech at the same occasion that “Iraqis are in need for unity, cohesion and to change into one united team to face the huge challenges confronting Iraq, the Arab Region and the Islamic world, on the security, political, cultural and service levels.”   SKH (IT)   313
