Demonstrators in Talafar demand to execute AQI operative

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Tens of Talafar people demonstrated in the suburb demanding the execution of a high-ranking operative of Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) Organization, the Talafar’s police director said on Thursday. Colonel Ali Hadi Obaid said that the extremist Islamist was arrested by police by the end of last week. “The operative was arrested when he was at one of the suburb’s hospitals for treatment,” Colonel Obaid told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the operative was transferred today to Mosul for treatment at this city’s hospitals. “Demonstrators condemned that the operative was transferred out of Talafar (60 km northwest of Mosul),” Colonel Obaid said. “But his health condition requires treatment out of the suburb.” Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
