No attempt to withdraw confidence from government – al-Iraqiya

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An al-Iraqiya MP announced today that his bloc currently has no intentions of withdrawing trust from the government, because it will create a state of “chaos” in the country. MP Ahmed al-Jubori told IraqiNews.com that his bloc called on the government to solve all pending questions, particularly the security and services, as well achieving national partnership. Earlier, MP Ahmed al-Alwani said  that there are alternatives to prevent the government to reach the status of one party and one leader by leaving the government to weaken the role of the prime minister. On the Higher Strategic Council, Jubori stated that the bloc has no other candidate, after the withdrawal of Iyad Alawi. “The bloc was not convinced by the Council since it was proposed due to its non-constitutional basis,” he added. Al-Iraqiya leader Iyad Allawi announced last Thursday his rejection of presiding over this post, due to the absence of “national partnership” and “unilateral control of power.” Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani made an initiative in September 2010 to solve the question of forming the new government, which was delayed for nine months.
