Call to connect tribal council with Presidency – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Middle Alliance MP called on parliamentary MPs to support the attachment of Iraqi tribes to the presidency, from an administrative viewpoint. MP Mutashar al-Samara’i rejected tribal attachment to the premiership. In a statement, received by IraqiNews.com, al-Samara’i added that the premiership is trying to control all aspects of political life. He pointed out that the Tribal Draft Law shall be presented in the second term of the parliament for approval. Premier Nouri al-Maliki called last Saturday for the establishment of higher council for Iraqi tribes that will organized the skeleton of all tribes on national and constitutional bases. RM (TS)/SR 94
