 UN Envoy in Kirkuk to discuss security, political conditions

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: The UN Secretary-General in Iraq, Martin Kobler has arrived in Kirkuk on Sunday, leading a high-level delegation to discuss the security and political circumstances in the Province, according to the UN Envoy’s office in Kirkuk. “The UN Envoy conferred in Kirkuk with its Governor, Dr.Najmiddin Karim on Sunday and is expected to meet other high-ranking officials in the Province, along with representatives of different political parties, with the approach of the U.S.withdrawal from Iraq and Kirkuk in special,” the office source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Kirkuk is 255 km to the northeast of Baghdad, and is among the areas in conflict between the Baghdad government and the Kurdistan Region‘s government. SKH (TP)/SR 90
