Iraqi situation pushes us to warn against a civil war, MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A Kurdish bloc MP said that the Iraqi present situation obliges us to warn against the eruption of a civil war after the US forces withdrawal. MP Farhad Ameen told IraqiNews.com that he approves the warning of Kurdish President Masoud Barzani of indications that a civil war may erupt, pointing out the latest political conflict, arrests and threats for creating new regions in the country. He added that the delay in solving pending issues will “perplex the political situation and contribute to its instability”. Barzani, earlier, warned against a civil war if the US forces are withdrawn, stressing that the Kurds will try to prevent such a war, without being a party in it. It was decided that the US forces should withdraw by the end of this year, but some American circles prefer the extension for these forces, while the Iraqi political blocs authorized the government to contract for trainers without immunity.
