Mehdi Army duty is to resist occupation, Ahrar bloc

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com:  Head of Parliamentary Ahrar bloc Baha’ al-Araji confirmed that his bloc will demand opening an investigation for the assassination attempt committed against Anbar governor, pointing out that the Mehdi Army duties are to resist the occupation forces. He added that “some political entities try to drag the country into sectarianism”. In a statement issued by his office, copy received by IraqiNews.com, he described the governor as “a national figure”. He questioned the reality of the information available, but stressed that there are some forces “want to drag Iraq into sectarian war after the US forces withdrawal”. Anbar governor Qassim al-Fahdawi accused, yesterday in a press statement, that the Mehdi Army is responsible for the assassination attempt committed against him before two weeks, which matter was strongly denied by the Sadrist Trend.
