BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Ahrar Parliamentary bloc chairman Baha’ al-Araji described the fears of some political blocs from the Sadrist Al-Mehdi Army as an “intrigue” made by the US occupation forces. Ahrar Media Center said in a statement, received by IraqiNews.com warned against such approaches, aiming to extend the stay of US forces in the country. During the last two weeks, U.S.military commanders warned that the Mehdi Army is one of the dangers facing Iraq, as Shiite Iranian-supported militias. Araji added that the Mehdi Army is not a militia, but changed into a cultural organization, which works in this field at the present time. “If there is no occupation, there will be Mehdi Army”, he confirmed.
