Iraqi initiative expected to pacify Syrian situation, MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: White bloc MP expressed its conviction that the Iraqi initiative will pacify the turbulent situation in Syria .   Alia Nsaif, said, in a statement issued by the bloc today, copy received by IraqiNews.com, that the Iraqi initiative will contribute to move the conflict from the streets to negotiations table in democratic atmosphere.   She added that “the initiative will finally lead to a number of political reforms, as elections, writing the constitution and absence of all military appearances”.   Iraqi sources disclosed last week that the Iraqi initiative comprised of five steps, starting from freezing Arab League sanctions, withdrawal of all military operations, internal dialogue, Arab-Syrian dialogue under Iraqi auspices, then to be finalized with Syrian dialogue under Arab auspices.   Foreign Minister Hoshiar Zebari announced that Iraq had contacts with the Syrian government and the opposition as well which enable it to achieve good offices role that will protect the blood of the Syrian people.
