Maliki demands Kurdistan to hand over Hashimi

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Premier Nouri al- Maliki demanded the Kurdish government to hand over vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi , who was charged with “terrorism”, warning on his escape abroad.   In a press conference held today, talking on vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi question, he confirmed that “the duty of the Kurdish region is to hand over who is wanted by the law”, pointing out that the non-handing over or his escape will incite new problems”.   He confirmed that he has more information, as well as he had submitted three years ago some dossiers to the three presidencies.   Yesterday, Hashimi demanded, in his first appearance following the accusations, that his case to be transferred to Kurdistan for investigation, stressing that the cause of this case is foreign agenda following the announcement of some provinces to be changed into regions.   Iraqi Interior Ministry announced last Monday the issuance of an arrest warrant against Hashimi, while the Iraqiya TV broadcasted the confessions of Hashimi’s bodyguards charging him with terrorist acts in 2009.   310
