SECURITY: At least 33 civilians killed or injured in series of explosions in Baghdad Thursday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: At least 33 civilians have been killed or injured in 7 explosive blasts in different parts of Baghdad on Thursday, a police source reported.”Ten civilians have been injured in an explosive charge blast n southwest Baghdad‘s al-Amel district, whilst 4 others were injured in another blast in southwest Baghdad‘s Abu-Dusheir, whilst another blast injured 3 civilians in al-Amin district, on Thursday,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that another explosion took place in central Baghdad‘s Harthiya area, wounding 2 civilians, along with 6 others injured in west Baghdad‘s Baya’a district, and an explosion took place in west Baghdad‘s Yarmouk district, wounding 6 civilian. Baghdad had witnessed a series of explosions early in the day, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, during the past few hours, following the withdrawal of the last US soldier from Iraq couple of days ago, along with the deterioration of the political and security situation that followed Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to sack Vice-President, Tareq al-Hashimy 2days ago and the campaign against his al-Iraqiya Alliance, led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, who announced that the Alliance’s Legislatures have refused to attend the Parliament’s sessions, along with its Ministers refusal to attend the meetings of the Council of Ministers.SKH (PT)517
