SALAHAL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi Army officer has been killed and his wife was injured in Shirgat township of Salahal-din Province, that also witnessed the destruction of 5 houses by unknown gunmen on Saturday, a Salahal-din Operations Command source reported. “An explosive charge blew off against an Iraqi Army officer, with a major rank in Yathrib village of Shirgat township, 120 km to the south of Tikrit, the center of Salahal-din Province, killing him on the spot and wounding his wife,” the said source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that a group of armed men have also destroyed 5 houses in al-Inshaa village, belonging to the Army in Shirgat township, 100 km to the north of Tikrit, the center of Salahal-din Province, causing no human casualties.
