SECURITY: Gang kidnapping women detained in Basra, south Iraq

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A gang, kidnapping women in central Basra has been detained, along with 7 persons demanded for criminal charges in security operations in different parts of the city on Thursday, the city’s Police Director reported. “Our police forces have detained a gang, kidnapping women in Hakimiya district in central Basra, comprising 11 persons, including 4 women,” Lt-Brigadier, Faisal al-Ibady told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that his forces had also detained 7 persons, wanted for criminal charges during inspection operations in different parts of Basra, along with an Austrian rocket. Basra, the center of Basra Province, is 590 km to the south of Baghdad. SKH (PT)319
