NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: Sadrist leader Muqtada al-Sadr called for banning three organizations from joining the political process in the country. In a statement, responding to one of his followers, he said that the “Qaeda, Baath and Asaib ahl al-Haq should not join the political process because their hands are stained with Iraqi blood”. Head of Asaib ahl al-Haq, who is a staunch opponent to the US occupation and a renegade from the Sadrist Trend, announced joining the political process, amid governmental welcoming and the Sadrist’s anger. The Sadrists, within the National Alliance, hold 40 seats in the parliament. The National Alliance holds 159 seats out of 325 in the Iraqi Parliament. Najaf lies 160 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
