4 cops killed in Anbar

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Four policemen have been killed, together with an armed man, in a clash against a police center in the Qaim township of west Iraq’s Anbar Province on Wednesday, a security source reported. “A group of armed men attacked a police center in central Qaim, 360 km to the west of Ramadi, the center of west Iraq’s Anbar Province on Wednesday, killing 4 policemen, including an officer and one of the armed men,” the security source reported. “Armed forces detained one of the armed attackers, whilst the other escaped to an unknown destination; an investigation has been launched involving the detainee to discover the identity of the attackers,” he said. The last attack by armed men in Anbar took place on December 25, 2011 on a checkpoint in al-Garma township, east of Fallula city, killing 6 policemen and wounding 2 others. Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, is 110 km to the west of Baghdad.791
