State Leaders confer in Talabani’s office

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A meeting was held in Baghdad on Tuesday for the Leaders of Iraq’s Three Leading Presidencies in the office of President Jalal Talabani, in which details and preparation for holding the General National Conference were discussed, a presidential statement reported. “During Tuesday’s meeting a decision was reached to hold an extensive meeting for the representatives of the Three Presidencies next week,” the statement reported. “The said meeting was held after a series of meetings President Talabani had held with the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, the Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, the statement stressed, adding that Talabani had also held a series of meetings with the Leaders and Representatives of the Political Alliances,” it added.President Talabani, the statement stressed, had stated at the end of the said meeting: “We have met today (Tuesday) the Three Presidencies, and discussed the joint efforts to settle the suspended problems and to enable the planned meeting of the political leaderships, that agreed to settle the suspended problems to succeed, with God’s Will.” The General National Conference was originally proposed by Talabani to settle the current suspended issues in the Iraqi political arena.  SKH (TS)/SRNumber of Reads:1157
