AL’s ass’t SG in Baghdad to discuss Arab Summit
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Arab League’s Assistant Secretary-General, Ahmed Bin-Hilli, has arrived in Baghdad on Monday, on an official visit to prepare for the holding of the next Arab Summit, to be hosted by Iraq, the semi-official al-Iraqiya Satellite TV Channel reported. It quoted Bin-Hilli as saying upon his arrival that his visit would continue for 4 days, during which he would share in the preparation for the Arab Summit and to put the final touches for the logistic, technical and administrative preparations for the Summit, considering “the visit as a confirmation for the persistence by both the Arab League and Iraq to hold the Summit in its scheduled date in Baghdad“. Noteworthy is that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki’s office had confirmed on Sunday that “all Arab States have expressed a collective support for the holding of the next Arab Summit in Baghdad, confirming their readiness to attend the Summit on highest levels.
