Steps for Arab Summit completed – Baghdad Mayoralty

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Baghdad’s Mayoralty announced on Wednesday the completion of the main preparations in the Iraqi capital to host the Arab Summit, according to a Mayoralty statement. “The main preparations for hosting the Arab Summit Conference in Baghdad have been completed, including the Presidential Palace, where the meeting of Arab Presidents, Kings and Leaders would convene, along with the Meetings Hall of the Foreign Ministers, the Office of the Arab League’s Secretary-General and other offices, as well as their complete furnishing,” the statement reported. It pointed out to the “completion of the Hosting Palaces for the Presidents, Kings and High Officials, along with the preparation of the 5-star hotels for the delegations and media men, to cover the important event, as well as the Grand Honor Hall in Baghdad International Airport and the Special Presidential Road, that was implemented by a UAE company for the account of Baghdad Mayoralty, for passage of Arab Presidents and Kings, and the Airport’s administration, its main road and west Baghdad’s Green Zone.” Noteworthy is that the Arab League decided on May 2011, to postpone the Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in  March 2011, to March, 2012, in response to an Iraqi demand that was supported by its member states.
