11 wanted – 2 kidnapping gangs arrested in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Basra Police has arrested 2 gangs for abduction and burglary, along with the liberation of an abducted woman, abducted by one of the two gangs, along with the detention of 11 wanted men, Basra‘s Police Media official reported. “Our forces has detained a gang in al-Qibla area, 8 km to the south of Basra, charged with carrying out abduction operations and  managed to set free a woman kidnapped by the gang,” he said, adding that the abducted woman was a Baghdad resident. “We have also managed to arrest a gang for burglary and abduction in Abu al-Khasib area, 20 km south of Basra, whose members admitted with having committed such operations,” he said, adding that “our forces have also managed to arrest 11 wanted men, one of them charged with having committee terrorist acts.” Basra is 590 km to the south of Baghdad.
