BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi political analyst Ahmed al-Abyad has expected the deterioration of Iraq‘s relations with Kuwait, following the win of Kuwait‘s Islamic Parties in the Kuwaiti Parliament elections recently, according to his statement made to IraqiNews.com news agency on Tuesday. “The region in general is witnessing the political front, moving towards the downfall of the republican, secular rule; we have witnessed this in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and in in Syria, followed by a change in the Royalist regimes in the area, as is evident with the Islamist extremists winning in the Kuwaiti Parliament elections,” Abyad stressed. “If we look towards Iraq from a sectarian viewpoint, we surely notice that relations with such states, such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, that are already not that normal, shall further deteriorate,” he said. “Our neighborly relations shall be strained and thus, I believe that the extremist Islamist parties win in the Kuwaiti Parliamentary elections shall be negatively reflected in relations between Iraq and Kuwait,” he added.
