Arabs in Kirkuk “disappointed” – statement

Arabs in Kirkuk “disappointed” – statement 2/11/2012 7:00 PM KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Arabs in Kirkuk expressed their “disappointment” with the remarks of some political entities who want to include discussions on Article 140 of the Constitution in the coming National Conference. In a statement issued by the Arab Political Council in Kirkuk, received by IraqiNews.com, they criticized the talks to include this article in the deliberations of the coming conference, “as its constitutional time has expired”, as reported. It added that the world should know the real tragedy of Kirkuk Arabs and the arbitrary actions taken by the main Kurdish parties following the 2003 war, particularly demographical changes and control of offices and governmental posts. The statement demanded to cease violations against the constitution, determine the disputed areas, resorting to judicial system to solve clashing opinions, participation in the National Conference, and exposing all papers to be submitted to the national conference to public before convening the conference itself, in addition to hold a special conference to tackle Kirkuk question and the disputed areas in Baghdad to lay out a road map to finalize these questions.
