Basra’s iya MPs demand release of detainees

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A number of MPs from Basra‘s al-Iraqiya Bloc  today demanded the release of detained Basra citizens who had not been convicted. In a press conference, MP Talal al-Zobai told IraqiNews.com that “some criminals were released, often cases contrary to the law and representing political deals”. On the other side, al-Iraqiya MP Hassan Khudhair told IraqiNews.com that “law should be prevalent, but if the detainees are not convicted, they should be released”. RM (TP)/SR 618
