WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The Interior Ministry decided on Saturday to remove three police commanders from their posts as a result of last August bombings in Kut, according to a security source. “The ministry sent a notification to the Wassit police department to dismiss, Colonel Suheil Najm Ghafel and Colonel Abdulazeem al-Saray, chief of the checkpoints, from their posts,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Their dismissal came as a recommendation from the investigation committee formed to investigate the double bombing by an explosive charge and a car bomb in the city of Kut last August, during which 40 people were killed or wounded,” he added. Kut, the capital of Wassit, is 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
