Talabani, Barzani mull new govt. formation

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Jalal Talabani, and Head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, discussed on Monday the formation of the new government in the region. “Talabani received at his special premises in Sulaimaniya, the president of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, with whom he discussed the formation of the new government and holding the Iraqi National Conference,” said a PUK statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The meeting was attended by BUK vice president Barham Saleh and Negervan Saleh, who is nominated to form the government. During an extraordinary session on Thursday (Feb.16), a total of 71 lawmakers in the Kurdistan Parliament voted to choose Negervan Barzani as the new premier of the region for the coming two years.
