Hakim arrives in Sulaimaniya
Sulaimaniya (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, heading by a high-level delegation arrived in Sulaimaniya province on Thursday to participate in the annual commemoration of Halabcha crime committed by the former regime against Halabcha city.
The reporter of IraqiNews.com assured that “The leader within the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Barham Salih, and a number of Kurdish officials has received Hakim at Sulaimaniya Airport.”
“The leaders within the SIIC, Baqir Jabur al-Zubaidi, and MP, Abdul Hussien Abtan, have accompanied Hakim in his visit to Kurdistan Region,” the reporter added.
It is worth mentioning that Halabcha city was targeted by chemical weapons in 1988 by the former regime which resulted in killing about 5000 persons.
