Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice President, Tariq al-Hashimi, and the Heir Apparent of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, discussed the political updates in Iraq.
A statement by QNA received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “The Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met at the Emiri Diwan office on Tuesday with Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi on the occasion of his visit to the country.“
“Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and the political developments in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
Earlier, the State of Qatar announced its rejection for handing over the Iraqi judicially wanted Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi to the Iraqi Government.
Premier Nouri al-Maliki has pointed out in a press conference on Sunday morning that “Hashimi should not be received as a Vice-President by the Arab countries because he is wanted for justice,” stressing that “Iraq is a member of the Arab League and receiving Hashimi will violate the diplomatic rules.”
