Iraqi Ambassador to Nigeria, Nigerian official discuss bilateral relations
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Ali Al Amiri, met Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Nigerian Senates Council, Tuwaco Mathew.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Both sides discussed bilateral relations and Iraq’s desire to develop them.”
“The Iraqi Ambassador explained that developing bilateral relations should start by reopening the Nigerian Embassy in Baghdad after Iraq’s reopening of its Embassy in Abuja in addition to Iraq’s desire to enhance bilateral relations through mutual visits of officials,” the statement mentioned.
“For his part, Senator Mathew said he will ask the Nigerian Foreign Minister and Foreign Undersecretary for an urgent meeting to discuss the reopening of the Nigerian Embassy in Baghdad,” the statement concluded.
