Hamoudi: Hosting meeting of (5+1) indicates restoring Iraq’s leading position
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Parliamentary foreign Relations Committee, Humam Hamoudi, stressed while meeting an Iranian Parliamentary delegation that “Hosting the coming meeting of the five permanent members of the UNSC plus Germany (5+1) with the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad indicates restoring Iraq’s leading position.”
A statement by Hamoudi’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Hamoudi received the head of the Foreign Relations Committee within the Iranian Shura Council, Ala il-Din Brojardi, and the accompanied delegation at his office in Baghdad as they discussed bilateral relations and the important regional issues.”
“Hamoudi stressed that hosting the 5+1 meeting will ensure Iraq’s prominent role,” the statement concluded.
