Jubouri calls to decrease local electricity generators’ fees

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Irqiya Hurra bloc Qutaiba al-Jubouri demanded the Ministries of Electricity and Oil to “equate the wages of the local electricity generators with the governmental electricity wages, and pay the difference in prices to the generators’ owners from the emergency budget till solving the electricity crisis completely.”

Jubouri said “The distribution of free fuel by the government is not a sufficient solution since the price of the subsidized power does not differ from that non- subsidized, but slightly,” stressing “The Iraqi family is still paying monthly sums to the owners of the generators, which adds extra burden on the already existing financial burdens they suffer from.”
