Shahristani office approves to provide local power generators with free fuel

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani declared approval to provide the private local generators with fuel for free this summer.

The Director of Shahristani’s office Faisal Abdullah said “During the meeting held by the deputy’s office yesterday, a resolution was approved to supply the domestic power generators with fuel for free during the coming four months.”

Abdullah added “We have submitted the resolution to the Council of Ministers for approval,” noting that “The recommendation was based on the successful experience in this regard in the last year which contributed in increasing the hours of electric energy processed to the citizens.”

It is worth to be mentioned that Iraq suffers from obvious electricity crisis since 9 years amid a clear governmental deficit to improve the power posture.
