Baghdad

SLC launches severe attack on Barzani

Baghdad -The State of Law Coalition violently responded on the accusations by the President of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, to the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of being a dictator saying that “The people know who is a dictator.”

MP Yasin Majid of the SLC said today at a press conference held in Baghdad that “Masoud Barzani ruled Kurdistan Region for 20 years in addition to being the head of the ruling party and the commander general of the Peshmerga and his son served as chief of intelligence services in the Region, while his nephew is the prime minister of the Kurdish Government and five members of his family are members of the political bureau of the Democratic Party,” noting that “People know who is the dictator who has cooperated clearly with the dictator in Baghdad (in reference to Masoud Barzani’s asking from Saddam Hussein in 1996 to use Iraqi Republican Guards’ troops to expel the forces of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK from Erbil.)”

Majid considered the continuation of Barzani in the attack on Baghdad as “an attempt to cover up the smuggling of oil to the whales in the region and the theft of the money coming from the imposition of customs duties on border points which had not been delivered to the central government.”

Majid said that “The dictatorship in the Kurdistan Region is growing and the Kurds feel it a threat for the democracy experienced by the Kurdish people,” adding that “Barzani will continue attacking Baghdad until holding the elections in the Region of Kurdistan.”

Majid continued saying that “Barzani wants to give the Kurdish people a signal that they have an enemy in Baghdad, in order to make them think that he is the only person who protects the Kurdish people’s rights.”
