Erdogan: Hashimi to return to Iraq, Turkey supports him

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com)-The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayeb Erdogan, announced that “The judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, will return to Iraq after finishing the medical treatment in Turkey.”

The Turkish Antalya News Agency mentioned “Erdogan, during his visit to Italy, told reporters that Hashimi was in Turkey due to his health problems and to hold talks regarding latest developments,” and said that “I believe, he will return to his country following his treatment.”

“As I said in the past, we supported Hashimi and we will continue to support him,” Erdogan added.

Erdogan’s comments came while the INTERPOL has issued an international arrest warrant against Hashimi at the request of the Iraqi judiciary.
