Sihail, Italian Ambassador discuss bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The first Deputy Speaker, Qusay al-Sihail, called “The European Union to play a positive role to relieve Iraqi from the 7th Chapter of the UN’s Charter.”

A statement by Sihail’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Sihail received the Italian Ambassador to Iraq and they discussed the means to enhance bilateral relations in all fields between the two countries in addition to reviewing the political situation in Iraq.”

“Sihail confirmed the parliament adherence to develop the relations with Italy and to improve the cooperation in rehabilitating the infrastructure projects,” the statement added.

“Sihail stressed that Iraq is among the promising countries in investment field and the parliament will provide suitable laws to attract the foreign companies to invest in Iraq,” the statement pointed out.

“We seek amending laws inherited from the former regime and to conclude many agreements with the European countries concerning the trade and investment,” the statement assured.

“For his part, The Italian Ambassador praised Sihail’s efforts to develop bilateral relations,” the statement concluded.
