Security committee of Maysan PC criticizes government’s permission for citizens to possess weapons
Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) The security committee in Maysan Provincial Council criticized the govermental resolution over allowing the citizen to possess one piece of weapon at each house.
The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Maythem al-Fartosy, reported in statement to IraqiNews.com that “This resolution is considered a dangerous security relapse because it implies many meanings,” noting that “It shows that the government is unable to control the security and it is tasking the citizen of protecting himself.”
The statement added that “It also includes indirect encouragement to spread the weapons which harm the innocence of the children as well as providing an opportunity to increase the clan’s conflicts which resulted in many human casualties.”
Al-Fartosy continued saying that “We were wishing not to see the weapons neither in streets nor in houses and only in the hands of the security forces who are tasked to protect all of us,”
