Adib meets President of Tehran University

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ali Al-Adib discussed with the head of the Iranian Tehran University, Farhad Rahbar and his accompanying delegation the possibility of holding joint conferences in scientific and humanity disciplines.

Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) received a copy of a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education, cited that “Al-Adib said during the meeting which was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad Musa Jawad al-Musawi, that his ministry is seeking to benefit from the experiences of other countries and its progress especially in the scientific and humanity disciplines by holding common conferences and workshops as well as increasing cooperation among research centers by granting study opportunities for Iraqi researchers abroad in the scientific disciplines that Iraq needs.”

It added that “Al-Adib expressed the determination of his ministry to implement its plan concerning development of higher education by granting 10, 000 scholarships for students to study at the sober world universities, the opening of specialized universities, updating the curriculum, and encouraging scientific research,” stressing the importance of “increased cooperation and exchange of scientific expertise between Iraqi universities and their counterparts of Iran, according to the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the two sides. “
