Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Turkish Minister to Iraq to protest some activities launched by the Turkish Consuls in Basra and Mosul provinces.
A statement by the Ministry received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “The head of the Neighboring Countries’ Affairs Department in the Ministry, Waleed Shiltagh, summoned the Turkish Ambassador and informed him the protest of the Central Government concerning the activities of the Turkish Consuls in Mosul and Basra who did not adhere to Vienna Agreement of 1963.”
“The Turkish Ambassador confirmed the Turkish adherence to consolidate relations with Iraq and assured that Turkey has no harmful agenda in Iraq that affect bilateral relations,” the statement concluded.
