Maliki calls to settle disputes constitutionally in national meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, described the political disputes as “Exceeded what is reasonable”, calling to hold the national meeting to settle them according to the constitution.

In a press statement, received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday, Maliki stated “The Iraqi people follow up the political conflict and they evaluate according to the disputes in the political process where what is happening among the political blocs is normal in a democratic country.”

“The political disputes became unreasonable in the democratic system where the Iraqi people are waiting for us to provide more services and to build the country,” he added.

Maliki called the political blocs “To gather in Baghdad without setting any conditions to discuss the disputes according to the constitution and law without neglecting the political deals.”

The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not applying Erbil agreement and the council of the strategic council.

The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the set time to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
