Wardi reveals physical, sexual violations against detainees in Anbar province

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Liqa Wardi, of the Iraqiya Slate revealed that the Anti Terrorism offices in Anbar province are doing physical and sexual violations against the detainees in Anbar province.

She stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “There are several violations done against the detainees such as taking confessions by force in addition to the physical and sexual ones.”

“When the detainee is released according to a judicial decision, the procedures of releasing him are delayed by the security institutions due to the money extortion,” she added, noting that “A parliamentary committee is formed to investigate over the accusations but the parliamentary order is not issued yet to make it starts its duties.”
