Dieni: Political crisis affects parliament performance

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Nahida al-Dieni, of the Iraqiya Slate assured that the continuity of the political crisis affected the performance of the parliament.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), she stated “The current crisis affected the parliament performance because the absence of most of the MPs which resulted in not voting on many important law drafts in addition to the big pressure on the MPs because of the crisis.”

“The political crisis is an interior affair where no need to the foreign sides to interfere in it if the political blocs are unable to settle their disputes,” she added, assuring that “Determining the number of the terms of the Prime Minister’s post is not a big problem, but the service and security issues must be solved.”

The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not applying Erbil agreement and the council of the strategic policies.

The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the set time to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
